Trying to win it...

Today is the start of my cycle for IUI#3
I confirmed with my RE on how to count on the first day of menses.  Spotting does not count and the first day of the heavy flow is to be considered DAY 1.

As advised by our doctor, this should be the last time that we're going to try with IUI.  She doesn't want to prolong the pain and agony of failing over and over.  She also doesn't recommended maximizing the number of tries.  First, it's not cost-effective - imagine wasting sums of money per cycle just to fail.  Secondly, my age would be ideal for a successful IVF.

Here are the medicines that I'm taking in preparation for IUI#3

I'm placed purely on injections for the ovulation stimulation - Puregon (75iu) to be injected everyday for 6 days.  It is suggested that they are injected at the same time per day.

Dexamethasone - I'm taking the pill.  Dosage is 0.5 mg once a day. This will help in proper absorption of the medicines in my system.

Then I'm to continue with my supplements and vitamins. The most important is my Metformin (3x a day) - to counter PCOS and Folic acid.

I also started drinking ANMUM-MATERNA last night.  I've read in one of the forums that it helps in preparing our bodies in conceiving.

And on Monday, I'll be having an APAS Testing at HP Rockwell.  (Just click on the link to know other lab test available at Hi-Precision)

 Until my next post folks...

Rematch lost

I'm starting to think that this fertility work up is beginning to be just like PACMAN and MARQUEZ boxing matches.  It keeps going on and on. Both wants to be the winner.  I can see myself as Marquez wanting to win the battle and Infertility as Pacquiao always the winner.

The only difference with us is that once Pacquiao had lost and draw matches.  I neither have any.  I've never felt how it was to be pregnant.  Or just see 2 pink lines on that rectangular box.

When will I get over my battle with infertility.  There was so much expectation that I'm going to conceive this November since I got 2 DF present.  But,  I guess some things are not meant to be.  How I wish I know the reason for it.

Let me give you a recap of what has happened on my previous cycle:

Oct. 8 - AF Day 1
Oct. 9-19 - Femara (2x a day)
Oct. 20 - Ovidrel shot (12 MN)
Oct. 22 - IUI#2 (collection - 11am; procedure - 1:30pm)
Oct. 22-Nov 8 - Duphaston (2x a day)
Oct. 27 - ff up and Pregnyl shot

Nov. 1 - AF Day 1
Nov. 10-Nov. 15 Puregon (75 iu)

Just an overview on the current cost of my work up.  I tabulated what we have spent for the last 2 cycles.  Hope this would help fellow sis out there who are trying to get pregnant.

To fellow sisses that are TTC out there...
Have faith that missing single pink line would be appearing for us...
I hope not to soon...

Third Cycle

SEPTEMBER 2012 - Cycle 3

With 2 failed natural (semi-natural) attempts to get pregnant. Our RE recommended that we should do IUI.  My husband agreed as well.

Again clomid on the 2nd day of AF still 2x a day for 5 days. I was also prescribed with dexamethasone (according to the RE it will help the body properly absorb the medicines).  After a week we went back to her and she did FM.  I just don't feel disappointed when she told me that the follies are not growing.  She then put me on femara for 5 more days and continue the dexa.  The follies are so stubborn they didn't even grew when she checked it on our follow up.  She then injected puregon 150 iu and was instructed to inject the same dose the next day. We saw her again on the 15th, said that the follies did grew but not enough.  Again another shot of puregon only this time it's 125iu. Since my RE is out on the 17th we were asked to go to SLMC-Women's Care for the FM and again the follies grew but a mm short of the desired size for the trigger shot.  Follow up the next day, the follies are now at its peak and got the pregnyl shot. FINALLY!

Tomorrow is our big day.  My husband is so anxious and excited.  He really believes that this will turn out positive after all.
